This is Charlotte Diamond’s 14th album and children will be delighted by the variety of new songs written and performed by Diamond and her son Matt. … Most songs are up-beat, happy and bouncy but there are a couple of quieter, slower numbers which make a good change of pace. The CD includes local musicians, a children’s choir from BC’s Sunshine Coast and a wide variety of instruments. The words are simple and the tunes are catchy so even quite young children could soon sing along.

“If, this season, you hear children bouncing around the house singing, “Ottie the otter … doing what an otter ought to do” you will know they have been touched by Charlotte Diamond.”

“I wanted to take a moment to email you and let you know how much we are all enjoying your new CD! We all LOVE it 🙂 It may be your best one yet!!!!
We have been listening it to non-stop since late last week. Makena (4 1/2 years old) already knows the words to many of the songs and we are doing actions along with the songs. Dylan (1 1/2 years old) is also trying hard to keep up! It’s so cute to watch. I already have many favourites, but the “Why Are You So Difficult” song is great!!! Love it 🙂
Thanks for producing such a fun and enjoyable compilation of music… it will keep us singing for years to come!”

1.
Ottie the Otter, swimming in the water,
Doing what an otter ought to do,
See her floating on her back, back, back,
Opening a clam with a smack, smack, smack!
Smack, smack, smack on her back, back, back!
2.
Ottie the Otter, swimming in the water,
Doing what an otter ought to do,
See her dive to the deep, deep, deep,
Scooping up urchins to eat, eat, eat.
Eat, eat, eat from the deep, deep, deep …
Smack, smack, smack on her back, back, back!
